Peter Parker Starts Over — Completely Alone
After No Way Home, Doctor Strange wiped everyone’s memory of Peter Parker. His friends forgot him. His family forgot him. The whole world forgot him.
Now Peter lives alone in New York City. He walks past millions of people every day. Nobody looks twice. Nobody calls his name. He’s totally invisible — and it hurts.
Cretton says this feeling sits at the core of the film. Peter deals with real grown-up problems for the first time. No safety net. No mentors. No help from above.
This Spider-Man hits the streets. Hard.
Big Cameos: Hulk and the Punisher Show Up
Peter isn’t completely on his own, though. Two very different heroes drop into his world — and neither one makes life easy.
Mark Ruffalo returns as the Hulk. He and Peter team up, but it’s a wild partnership. Hulk is huge. Spider-Man is scrappy. Together, they clash and crash through New York.
Jon Bernthal also comes back as the Punisher. Their chemistry is loud and dangerous. The Punisher doesn’t play by the same rules as Peter. Sparks fly. Fists fly. The streets take a beating.
The Hand Is Here — and They’re Terrifying
Peter also faces a brand new threat: The Hand.
This is a dark, shadowy group of criminals tied to some of Marvel’s darkest stories — Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. They move in secret. They fight dirty. And they bring serious danger to New York’s underground world.
They join a huge list of villains — including Scorpion, Tombstone, Boomerang, and Tarantula. Peter has to fight them all with zero backup and zero budget.
A New Director With a Big Vision
Destin Daniel Cretton steps in for the first time on a Spider-Man film. He says he connected instantly with Peter’s personality — messy, clumsy, always trying to do the right thing.
He wanted to show New York City in a raw, real, gritty way. Not glossy. Not polished. Just streets, shadows, and struggle.
The goal? Audiences leave the theater feeling less alone — just like Peter does by the end.
