He plays Captain Christopher Pike on *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*. Season 4 just dropped on Paramount+. But he already wrapped the fifth and final season back in December 2025. The end is coming.

Five Seasons Done. One Captain. No Regrets.
Mount sat down for an exclusive chat with Screen Rant. He talked about Pike, the show, and what comes next.
Season 4 gives fans ten full episodes. Season 5 gets just six. That’s it. The show wraps in 2027. Mount says he’s fine with that.
He has two kids. He’s grateful the show got a real ending — not a sudden cancellation. He just wants to finish Pike’s story the right way.
Britney Spears Predicted All of This
Here’s a fun fact. In 2002, Mount starred in *Crossroads* — the Britney Spears road movie. He played her love interest. The two drove across the country with a group of friends.
That cast turned out to be very Star Trek-coded. Zoe Saldaña — who was in *Crossroads* — later played Uhura in the J.J. Abrams *Star Trek* films. Kim Cattrall appeared in *Star Trek VI*. And of course, Mount became Captain Pike.
Mount laughed about it. He says people keep bringing up *Crossroads* again lately — probably because it started streaming on Netflix in 2024 and found a whole new crowd of fans.

The Hair. The Memes. “Pike’s Peak.”
Let’s talk about the hair. Because the internet certainly did.
Captain Pike’s big, silver, sky-high hair became a huge deal online. Fans called it “Pike’s Peak.” Memes spread everywhere. Mount says it happened because different stylists kept trying to outdo each other — and the hair just kept getting taller.
He took it well. He even joked that maybe he gives Colin Farrell a run for his money in the great hair race. No bad feelings. All laughs.

Black Bolt Could Return — And Mount Is Ready
Before *Star Trek*, Mount played Black Bolt in Marvel’s *Inhumans*. The show bombed. But Marvel gave him a second shot in *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness*. He loved working with director Sam Raimi.
Would he play Black Bolt again? Absolutely. Mount says the answer is always yes. Marvel hasn’t called yet — but he’s not closing that door.
He and Rebecca Romijn even sent Marvel boss Kevin Feige a fun gift — a framed *Enterprise* commission naming him an official Starfleet officer. Feige reportedly cried a little opening it.

The Captain Who Listens
Mount says playing Pike taught him something real about leadership. Great leaders don’t boss people around. They find the right people, give them what they need — then step back.
That’s Pike’s style. And it turns out it works pretty well off the screen too.
